About the role

This 13-week night-shift assignment is located in New Haven, CT at an acute-care, Level-1 trauma center with 1,411 beds. The unit uses Epic for charting and requires telemetry (MS/Tele) expertise.

Responsibilities

• Manage BiPAP/CPAP and non-invasive airway devices
• Administer blood products and care for central/PICC lines
• Provide pre/post hemodialysis and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) management
• Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, and manage heparin/IV insulin protocols
• Care for patients with craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, traumatic brain injury, seizure disorders, and ortho trauma
• Manage surgical drains, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), wound care/wound vac, and skin grafts
• Perform phlebotomy, start/maintain IVs, and manage peripheral nerve block catheters
• Titrate insulin drips and manage substance withdrawal
• Provide tracheostomy care, traction, and TR band management
• Respond to rapid response/code teams and adhere to isolation precautions/PPE
• Administer oxygen via nasal cannula, tanks, and other devices
• Monitor telemetry on the unit and manage PCA pumps
• Care for feeding tubes and renal failure patients

Requirements

• 1 year of recent MS/Tele nursing experience
• Active CT license or compact license (accepted)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications

Pay

$2,274 to $2,471 weekly (includes taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements).

Schedule

• 13-week assignment
• Night shift: 3x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Start date: 09/11/2026
