Travel Medical Surgical RN - $2,684 per week

About the Role

Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Neurosurgical/Medical unit in Wilmington, North Carolina. This travel nursing position requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, particularly in neuro surgical procedures and diagnoses. The selected candidate will work night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals undergoing neuro surgical procedures
• Monitor patient progress and respond to urgent care needs
• Utilize electronic health record systems (EPIC) for documentation and communication
• Administer medications through Pyxis and ensure accurate medication delivery
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekend shifts as per contract requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or neuro setting
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required; National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification preferred
• Strong understanding of neuro diagnoses and surgical procedures
• Ability to work in high-stress situations, including the potential for deployment during catastrophic events

Schedule

• Night shifts, 3x12-hour shift pattern (18:45 - 07:15)
• 12-16 weekend shifts required throughout the 13-week contract
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated based on requests
• RTO (Request Time Off) limited to a maximum of 7 days

Additional Information

• Ratios: 1 nurse for every 5-6 patients
• Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation
• Providers will be assigned to a Storm/Hurricane Team and may be required to work during emergencies
• Attire: Scrubs must be navy in color
