About the role
The Medical Surgical Floor RN position is located in Osage Beach, Missouri. This role involves providing patient care on a Med Surg unit during day shifts (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.), with some weekends. The position requires strong clinical skills to monitor patients with pacemakers, potassium levels, and other cardiac-related care, with a focus on general medical-surgical nursing practices.
The unit has 39 beds, with patient ratios of 1:6. No acutely cardiac patients are in the unit; typical cases include pacemakers, monitoring, and potassium management. The unit uses Royal blue scrubs, which are not provided. The hospital may occasionally cancel 1 shift every 4 weeks, though rarely.
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Some weekends required
- May float to other Med-Surgical units within scope of practice
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical-surgical nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
Certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIHSS) can be obtained during the placement process if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Telemetry experience (a plus, but not required)
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic charting system and McKesson medication system
