Registered Nurse - MedSurg - 12 Hr Days - 13 Week Contract
Schedule: This is a 12-hour day shift position with weekends scheduled as part of the rotation. Shifts run from 0645 to 1915.
Job Description: The MedSurg unit comprises 52 private beds, primarily focused on orthopedic and neurological post-operative care, alongside general surgical recovery. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, maintaining unit standards, and ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities: Manage an average patient load of 6-7 patients per shift. Collaborate with Charge Nurse and House Supervisor to facilitate unit operations. Utilize EMR (Allscripts) for patient documentation and management. Care for patients with diverse medical diagnoses, including orthopedic, neurological, and general medical conditions. Participate in the orientation process for new staff and assist in the training of Nurse Aides. Coordinate care with the in-house Hospitalist and Intensivist teams available 24/7.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure: Current, unexpired RN license required. BLS and NIHSS certifications are mandatory. ACLS is a plus. Previous experience in MedSurg or related settings is preferred.
