Travel Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Job

Travel assignment in Newark, NY, beginning 08/25/2026 for a several-week stay on a 41-bed short-term rehab unit within a skilled nursing facility.

About the role

This position is on a 41-bed short-term rehab unit specializing in wound care (including wound VACs), IVs, PICC lines, nephrostomy care, and post-operative orthopedic and cardiac care. Local candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adults and geriatrics on a 41-bed short-term rehab unit
• Perform wound care, including VAC management, IV and PICC care, and nephrostomy care
• Support post-op orthopedic and cardiac patients
• Administer medications per physician orders, monitor patient status, and respond to changes in condition
• Conduct dressing changes, monitor vital signs, and perform routine nursing tasks with attention to patient safety
• Maintain accurate, timely EPIC documentation and ensure compliance with charting standards
• Collaborate with physical therapy, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and the unit secretary to coordinate patient care

Requirements

• Active New York LPN license in hand to submit
• BLS certification
• EPIC charting experience (hard requirement)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Ability to work on a 41-bed short-term rehab unit with wound care and post-op ortho/cardiac care
• Commitment to the shift schedule (5x8 evenings)

Pay

Weekly pay: $1,228–$1,263 per week
