Travel Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Job

About the role

This travel opportunity is a temporary assignment arranged through Healthforce Healthcare LLC. The setting is a Short Term Acute Care Hospital in State College, PA.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with nursing principles, using sound clinical judgment
• Monitor, assess, document, and report patient status; implement and coordinate patient care plans with the healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor effects and educate patients and families
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and caregivers; participate in care coordination and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate medical records, apply safety precautions, and respond calmly and effectively in emergencies
• Demonstrate knowledge of common safety hazards, medical terminology, and basic coding guidelines as applicable to the setting

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
• Licensure: Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License
• Certification: Meets the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) standards and renews every two years
• Experience: One year nursing experience preferred

• Ability to read, interpret and follow written and verbal instructions
• Effective communication
• Able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
