Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Long Term Care Job

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate basic nursing care to adult residents in a correctional healthcare setting, under supervision
• Administer prescribed medications and document administration accurately in the charting system
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, respond to changes in condition, and report observations to the supervising nurse or physician
• Perform routine wound care, dressing changes, and other approved procedures within the scope of practice
• Collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, and other health professionals to support care plans and ensure continuity of care
• Maintain infection control standards, manage patient safety protocols, and uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries

Requirements

• Active LPN license in Alabama, in good standing
• Completion of an approved practical nursing program
• Experience in long-term care and/or correctional healthcare settings preferred
• Ability to work night shifts (23:00–07:30) and maintain 40 hours per week
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills; proficient in basic charting and care coordination
• Willingness to work in a corrections setting and adhere to facility policies and safety procedures
