Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications and document administration accurately per policy
  • Monitor patient conditions, perform regular assessments, and respond to changes in status
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living and mobility, promoting comfort and safety
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record; update care plans as needed
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and security protocols within the corrections context
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure patient well-being

Requirements

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in North Carolina, in good standing
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Practical nursing education from an approved program (LPN diploma)
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in long-term care or a closely related setting; prior corrections exposure preferred
  • Ability to work the 3x12-hour day shift schedule and comply with facility policies and security protocols
  • Able to pass routine credentialing, background check, and drug screening as part of onboarding
