Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and document administration accurately per policy
- Monitor patient conditions, perform regular assessments, and respond to changes in status
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living and mobility, promoting comfort and safety
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record; update care plans as needed
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and security protocols within the corrections context
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure patient well-being
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in North Carolina, in good standing
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Practical nursing education from an approved program (LPN diploma)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in long-term care or a closely related setting; prior corrections exposure preferred
- Ability to work the 3x12-hour day shift schedule and comply with facility policies and security protocols
- Able to pass routine credentialing, background check, and drug screening as part of onboarding
