About the role

Bestica is seeking a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker for a travel position in Spokane, Washington. This is a 13-week assignment starting 09/21/2026, with 40 hours per week on a night shift (10 hours, 1600-0200). The role is in the Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room department, requiring work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

Responsibilities

• Conduct crisis risk assessments for adults and pediatrics
• Complete intake and admission screenings*
• Perform bio-psychosocial assessments
• Provide patient and family education, support, and advocacy*
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Handle 5150/involuntary holds
• Float between units if overstaffed
• Maintain expected patient ratios of 7:1

Requirements

• Full licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist (associate license will not suffice)
• 3+ years of experience in a hospital or psychiatric setting
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Hospital experience preferred
• Knowledge of specialized areas, including:
  • Adoption/Foster Care*
  • Drug/alcohol use and treatment options
  • Suicide/homicide/self-harm assessment and intervention

Schedule

• 13-week assignment starting 09/21/2026
• 40 hours per week
• 10-hour night shifts (1600-0200)
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call or block schedules
