• Amnioinfusion
• Antepartum care
• Administration of antihypertensives
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
• Baby-friendly protocols and breastfeeding/lactation support
• Cesarean section (circulate and scrub)
• Couplet care
• Dilation and curettage (D & C)
• Diabetes mellitus management
• Drawing venous blood
• Epidural anesthesia management
• Episiotomy and incisional care
• Facility with 200-300 births/month
• Foley catheter insertion/management
• Forceps/vacuum extraction
• Fundus, lochia, and perineum care
• General anesthesia management
• HELLP Syndrome recognition and treatment
• Hemorrhage and shock management
• ID/security banding
• Infant/neonatal arrest and neonatal resuscitation
• Insulin drips and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Management of malpresentations (breech/face/brow)
• Multiple births and multiple gestation care
• Non-stress tests (NST)
• Pitocin (oxytocin) administration
• Postpartum hemorrhage management
• Pre-eclampsia/eclampsia and pregnancy-induced hypertension care
• Premature rupture of membranes and preterm labor management
• Prostaglandins administration
• Radiant warmers and thermoregulation
• Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Recovery care for C-section patients
• Reflex checks, edema assessment, and clonus evaluation
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Sterile vaginal exams
• Placenta previa and abruptio management
• Substance abuse assessment
• Terbutaline administration
• Triage of obstetrical patients
• Use of external fetal monitoring (EFM) and infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring
• Use of rapid response/code teams
• Uterine rupture management
• Vaginal delivery and VBAC management/trial of labor

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
• Charting system: Epic
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, AWHONN Beginner
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
