Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Administer medications and treatments following established protocols while monitoring for side effects and efficacy.
- Document patient history, symptoms, care provided, and education given.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other caregivers to manage the clinical situation effectively.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients who are 20 weeks gestation and beyond, including managing labor, assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, conducting emergency evaluations, and providing postpartum care.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
- BLS certification required (AHA only).
- Current certification in AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) required.
- Current NRP and ACLS certification required (AHA only).
- Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact state.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Contract and local rates may vary based on location and applicant residency.
