About the role

The Registered Nurse in the Perinatal specialty provides comprehensive nursing care in a clinical setting, demonstrating accountability and professional practice. The nurse will deliver routine and complex care, engage in long-range planning, and manage clinical situations appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
  • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Administer medications and treatments per established protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given meticulously.
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
  • Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact required.
  • Current certifications required: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM), NRP, ACLS, and BLS (AHA only).
  • Completion of New Nurse Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
  • Recent experience in a perinatal setting preferred.

Schedule

  • Shift: 12 hours, days (07:00 AM - 07:00 PM)
  • 36 hours per week
