About the role

This is a Registered Nurse (RN) position in the maternal and infant care specialty, focusing on Mother/Baby Couplet Care in a healthcare facility located in Burlington, Vermont. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a dynamic environment, supporting postpartum patients and newborns, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position offers a rotating day/night schedule with opportunities for professional growth within a large or teaching facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for postpartum patients and newborns in a Mother/Baby Couplet Care setting.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Work rotating day/night shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Be open to taking on charge nurse responsibilities.

Requirements

• Valid AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of specialty experience in maternal-newborn care.
• Experience in a large (500+ beds) or teaching healthcare facility.
• EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience within the past 2 years.
• Prior travel experience highly preferred.
• Antepartum experience preferred.
• Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type required for submission.
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (public transportation is not accessible in this area).

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights.
• 36 hours per week minimum.
• Work schedule includes Monday to Sunday; no block schedules for any reason.
• Bi-weekly orientation sessions conducted on Mondays.
