Job Details
Assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor and treat simple to complex conditions, defects and/or diseases without surgery.
Affixes a variety of highly specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional and/or invasive procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.
Maintains a strict sterile field adhering to safety protocols.
Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, provides clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines.
Collaborates with team members across OU Health including Providers to provide exceptional patient care.
Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented and align with departmental and accreditation standards.
Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enters technical data/findings and prepares study for reporting by physician.
Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions for use and other regulatory guidelines.
Assists with quality assurance, audits and performance improvement tasks as requested.
Provides on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as assigned.
May support OU Health's academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program.
May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members.
Assists with onboarding of new team members.
Job Requirements
Demonstrates knowledge and skill in applying principles of medical imaging, positioning of patients and medical ethics.
Applies core knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology associated with specialty imaging procedures.
Demonstrates ability and skill to apply theory, practices and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze and annotate study data or procedure documentation.
Applies knowledge of sterile fields consistently ensuring a safe environment for the patient.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and patient populations served.
Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards.

Education & Certification
Graduate of post-secondary educational program in health science (includes cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, or paramedic/EMT) as defined by ARRT or CCI.
Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.
ARRT(RT), RCES or RCIS certification required within 18 months of hire.
