Travel assignment for an Interventional Radiology Technologist in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
About the role
13-week travel contract at an 885-bed, Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center with Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations. The department has 8 dedicated Interventional Radiology rooms handling 45–50 cases daily, including neuro and body procedures.
Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist in IR and neuro-interventional procedures (stroke, cancer, tumors, peripheral/carotid/IVC/SVC occlusions, embolizations, thrombectomies, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90, Sir spheres, biopsies, drainages, and access).
- Circulate—operate imaging equipment, provide supplies, and support room turnover.
- Participate in on-call rotation: 3–4 call days per month, every 5th–6th weekend (Friday 16:30 to Monday 08:00), and work 75% of holidays.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of IR experience in both body and neuro-interventional radiology at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
- ARRT-R or RCIS certification; BLS required.
- Comfortable precepting new graduates and working in a team that includes tech extenders, RNs, 4 neuro providers, and 7 body physicians.
Skills
- Proficient with Siemens, Philips, and GE imaging systems and ultrasound units.
- EPIC Encompass EMR experience.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week, 10-hour rotating shifts (manager open to 8s, 10s, or 12s; 5×8 or 3×12 configurations).
- No floating required.
- Orientation up to 2 weeks.
