About the Role
ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Stepdown unit in Wheeling, West Virginia. This is a 13-week assignment with a 12-hour night shift schedule, including weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and telemetry.
- Administer medications and titrate IV drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin).
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to manage patient care effectively.
- Provide education to patients and families about their health conditions.
- Assist in chest pain, arrhythmias, and other cardiac-related patient care.
- Perform post-cath and post-pacer care, including groin checks.
- Coordinate care with the hospitalist and intensivist available 24/7.
Requirements
- Current RN license.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Experience in telemetry and intermediate care nursing preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
Qualifications
The Registered Nurse will work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMU), a 30-bed unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, providing care to patients with various medical conditions.
