About the role

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nurse position is based in Denver, Colorado. This role involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. The IMCU Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, as well as providing health teaching and counseling to patients. The position requires delivering supportive and restorative therapy and treatment, either directly or through collaboration, delegation, supervision, or education. The role may include floating to other departments within scope and qualifications, and the candidate may be placed on-call during scheduled shifts.

Schedule

  • Days shift
  • 12 hours per shift
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
  • Provide health teaching and counseling to patients
  • Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment, either directly or through collaboration, delegation, supervision, or education
  • Execute delegated medical functions
  • Monitor treatment plans and ensure documentation compliance
  • Utilize resources effectively
  • Perform essential nursing functions and medical procedures independently and collaboratively
  • May float to other departments within scope and qualifications
  • May be placed on-call during scheduled shifts

Requirements

  • ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification
  • ACLS certification
  • NIH certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
  • TNCC certification

Pay

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
