Travel ICU Registered Nurse - $2,165 per week
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position available in a healthcare facility in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The role involves delivering high-quality critical care to patients with complex medical needs, including those with sepsis, pneumonia, COVID-19, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, and post-surgical care. The position requires maintaining safety and compliance standards while providing compassionate patient-centered care.
About the role
ICU RN responsible for managing critically ill patients in a specialized unit with an average daily census of 13. Bed capacity is 18 beds, all with private rooms and negative pressure capabilities for COVID-19 patients. The unit handles a variety of diagnoses including neurosurgery, cardiovascular, and vascular cases, and requires competence in CRRT, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), ventilator management, and vasoactive medication administration.
- Float rotation may be required to Stepdown and Medical Surgical units as needed.
- Critical care staffing includes RT coverage 24/7 with vents, Cpap, BiPap, and High Flow devices, along with remote telemonitoring and designated monitor techs.
- The unit has a dedicated pharmacist during daytime hours and requires completion of EPIC education and general competencies before start.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality critical care to patients with complex medical conditions.
- Manage patients requiring CRRT, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), ventilator management, and vasoactive medication administration.
- Maintain safety and compliance standards.
- Titrate critical care medications, manage ventilators, central lines, and vasoactive drips.
Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- At least 2 years of critical care experience.
- Proficiency in titrating critical care medications, managing ventilators, central lines, and vasoactive drips.
- Prior travel experience preferred but not required.
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
- Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling permitted as long as staffing needs are met.
