About the role
Travel ER RN's are needed for a 13-week assignment starting in June at a hospital in Bridgeport, West Virginia. Shifts are 11am-11pm for 36 hours per week with no floating. Holidays rotate with core staff.
- Number of beds: 33
- Triage area in the ER; separate Fast Track open 11a-11p
- Nurse to Patient ratios: 1:4 in the general ER, 1:5 in 5-bed lower acuity area, 1:6 in Fast Track
- EMR: EPIC
- Charge Nurse: Yes, with no patient assignment
- Nurse Aides: Yes (Nurse Techs available)
- Scrub Color: Royal blue
- Telemetry: Yes, must be able to read and interpret strips
- Vents: Yes
- Hospitalist/Intensivist in house: 3 physicians on staff 11a-11p, 1 for 4 hours on nights, 2 the rest of the time; NPs and PAs also utilized
- IV Team: Available until 10pm
- RT: 24/7
- Pharmacy: 24/7 (no pharmacy in ER)
- Floor-specific orientation: 1-3 shifts
- Common diagnoses/types of patients: CP, respiratory failure, abdominal pain, and all common ER patients; 15% pediatric population
- Major trauma patients are stabilized and transferred to a sister hospital Level 1 Trauma Center
- Admit 18% of patients; no patient holds
- Average patient stay in ER: 2hr 45min
- Extremely efficient ER with a very positive work environment; travelers are welcomed
Requirements
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- PALS preferred
