Travel Diesel Technician

About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking a skilled Travel Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join their team. This role requires 100% travel and offers competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• 5+ years’ of hands-on experience performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs
• 5+ years of experience performing maintenance on heavy duty tractors and trailers
• Experience with aftertreatment, a/c repair, and electrical diagnostic experience
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
• Must be able to successfully pass a DOT physical if required for the role

Pay & Schedule

• Pay Range: $36.00 - $43.00/hr
• Pay Frequency: Weekly pay - every Friday
• Shift: Monday - Friday (Flexible with some weekend travel required)
• 100% Travel Involved

What We’re Looking For

• Must be able to perform essential functions that include lifting heavy objects, accessing tight spaces, and bending, stooping, crouching, or crawling as needed to complete repairs

Working Conditions

• This role involves working in a mobile and/or shop environment that may include exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical irritants such as oils and greases
