Pay
Hourly Pay: $35.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
- Top Tech Competition: Earn $250 – $50,000 per year
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- Weekends off
- Second Shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Responsibilities
- Assist and train technicians as needed
- Provide customer service to daily customers
- Give feedback to the Service Manager on employee performance for appraisals or disciplinary purposes
- Oversee parts distribution and inventory
- Manage shop reporting, warranty recovery, and unit tracking
- Handle payroll administration and other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification, or post-secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools (required)
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems)
- Advanced skilled-level repairs (major engine repairs, diesel after-treatment, or automotive fuel injection repairs)
- Four (4) years or more of relevant work experience (preferred)
- Ability to read codes and instructions on the computer
- Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, internet, and related programs
- Proficiency in maintenance computerized programs for reporting and communication
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Ryder’s driving qualifications
- Minimum Tech II up to Tech IV qualifications, plus a minimum of 6 months supervisory or training experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations for roadside assistance
- Proficiency in SMO, SBT, payroll system, warranty recovery, and employee handbook
- Thorough understanding of unit utilization procedures
To become a Ryder employee, you must:
- Obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Internal candidates: Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months in their current position with a record of good performance, attendance, safety, and teamwork.
