Pay

$31.51 per hour

• $100 certification bonus for each new ASE certification obtained (up to $700)
• Quarterly bonus up to $500 (four times per year)

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• Weekends off
• Second shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational or technical certification (preferred)
• Post-secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
• Basic tools (required)
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (e.g., oil changes, brake and tire work)
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred; must be able to obtain within 6 months after hire)
• Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard maintenance, component inspections, and preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools as applicable
• Identifies root causes of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required
• Replaces defective components as instructed
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
• Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Works in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
• Performs other support duties as required, such as Service Island support
