Travel Diesel Technician

About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring a skilled Travel Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Fontana CA. This role covers the West Coast, CA - North Dakota and involves 50% to 80% travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty fleet vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• 5+ years’ of hands-on experience performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (detailed below)

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical if required for the role

• Physical demands: Lifting heavy objects, accessing tight spaces, bending, stooping, crouching, or crawling as needed to complete repairs

Pay & Schedule

• Pay $36.00 - $43.00/hour (based on experience)
• Pay frequency: weekly
• Shift: Monday - Friday (flexible with some weekend travel required)
• Up to 80% travel time
