Job Summary

This role involves circulating and scrubbing cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeries, including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, aneurysm repairs, and transplant procedures. The position requires a highly skilled RN with at least two years of recent OR experience in a large, academic or teaching hospital setting, with extensive expertise in open heart surgery cases. Flexibility with schedule and the ability to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment are essential.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with rotating days/evenings.
  • Specific shift times include 0645-1715 for 10-day cases or 0645-1915 for 12-day cases.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of OR registered nurse experience, including recent CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) scrub and circulate experience.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required; CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) preferred.
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) or higher licensed RN.
  • Experience in large, academic, or teaching hospital environments with cardiac surgery.
  • Proven competency in open heart procedures such as CABG, valve repairs/replacements, aneurysm repairs, and transplant-related surgeries.
  • Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience from within the past two years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic EMR experience within the last two years.
  • Previous travel experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to float to other OR suites (general, neuro, neuro, ENT, etc.).

Additional Information

  • No block scheduling.
  • Bi-weekly orientation sessions on Mondays.
  • Must have reliable transportation; public transportation is not accessible.
  • Candidate must be flexible and available to work scheduled calls and weekends as needed.
  • Candidate is required to explain employment gaps over 90 days in employment history.
  • This is a first-time travel assignment for the candidate.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
