About the role

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a position in Burlington, Vermont. The role is a specialty CVOR RN position with a start date of October 5, 2026, for an approximate 16‑26 week travel assignment. The position requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour shifts, rotating between days and evenings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized perioperative care for cardiovascular and open heart surgeries within a large academic healthcare facility.
  • Work efficiently in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet patient care needs, including working holidays and weekends.
  • May circulate to other OR suites; scrubbing hearts is required when assigned.
  • Adhere to facility policies and maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR.

Requirements

  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Operating Room experience, with high competency in cardiovascular or open heart procedures.
  • Experience working in large, academic hospitals.
  • Prior travel nursing experience.
  • BLS certification.
  • CNOR certification preferred.
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years.
  • Ability to scrub hearts.
  • Reliable personal or rental vehicle equipped with all‑season or snow tires (November‑April).
  • Ability to explain any employment gaps over 90 days.
  • Complete work history must be submitted.

Schedule

12‑hour shifts rotating between days and evenings; bi‑weekly orientations every Monday; no block schedules. Must be flexible to work holidays and weekends as needed to meet patient care needs.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
