Travel Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse - $2,285 per week

Job Summary

The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) position is located in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized cardiovascular care in a high-acuity acute care setting. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing complex cardiac patients, including those with ventilator needs, invasive lines, and advanced monitoring requirements, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM 7:00 AM), with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated.
• Must have at least 2 years of ICU experience, specifically in CVICU or cardiac intensive care.
• Certifications needed include BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred; CCRN or PCCN a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cardiovascular ICU components, including ventilators, invasive lines, temporary pacemakers, IABPs, and EP patient care.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips.

Additional Information

• Must be proficient with all CVICU equipment, including Swan-Ganz catheters, CVCs, art lines, and titration of multiple drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, vasopressors, sedation, and insulin.
• The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:3 to 1:4, with PCTs providing support.
• Ventilators, including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices, are routinely used, with vented patients typically trached.
• All patients are connected to Philips monitors; RNs are expected to read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Care includes managing a diverse patient population with conditions like heart failure, post-procedure patients (TAVRs, Ablations), COVID overflow, and patients requiring advanced cardiovascular interventions.
• Float to all levels of care is required, with the ability to step up to ICU as needed.
• Orientation includes one day of unit-specific training and two days with a preceptor.
• Shift days include weekends on a rotating schedule, with every other weekend and holiday rotation expected.
• No call or standby requirements.
• Proper attire and appearance are essential; scrubs are not provided and must be appropriate.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
