Travel Agent
Job Description
This individual will be responsible for:
- Booking and issuing domestic and international airline itineraries, hotel reservations, car reservations, train tickets, travel insurance, other land transportation
- Processing travel requests, sometimes booking 30-40 transactions a day
- Aiding travelers and planners with complex itineraries
- Fulfilling online and agent-assisted reservations; ticketing, exchanges, refunds and voids
- Maintaining corporate travel department email and telephone support
- Maintaining traveler profiles
Basic Requirements
- At least 2 years experience working in a customer-facing role
- At least 1 year in a role organizing, booking, and planning travel
- Robust customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
- The ability to process high-volume requests
- The ability to communicate with all levels of an organization effectively
- The ability to work in a team environment
- The ability to learn and apply new skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- The ability to multitask and re-prioritize throughout the day
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in the travel industry
- Proficiency with travel booking systems
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience booking corporate travel
- Experience with international travel bookings and group travel
- Experience with Sabre Reservation System
- Experience with Acendas is preferred
- Local to the Kansas City area
Pay
Salary Range: $51,300-$69,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

Requirements
