Responsibilities
- Plans, develops and presents in-house and local trauma-related education programs for emergency medical services personnel, nurses, physicians, other paraprofessionals, patients and families and lay public.
- Identifies learning needs and develops the overall plan for trauma-related continuing education activities.
- Coordinates educational courses on a regularly scheduled basis to assure that the nursing staff is able to meet State requirement of 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
- Interfaces with local and regional peers to keep current on emergency preparedness of the RAC's in the state.
- Keeps current in practice through attendance at conferences, reading journal articles and participation in web conferences.
- Provides leadership in establishing a statewide trauma system network.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
- Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- Experience: Three (3) years of professional nursing in tertiary care and one (1) year of management experience in specialty area or a combination of education and experience.
