About the role
Identifies educational needs of nursing staff and facilitates specific education in conjunction with department leadership.
Supports outreach education in cooperation with Trauma Outreach Manager and pre-hospital services.
Collaborates with local, regional, and national injury prevention and community outreach initiatives.
Oversees daily operations of the trauma program to ensure optimal care for injured patients.
Collaborates with nursing and other patient care departments to manage trauma patient and family care processes.
Supervises trauma performance improvement and patient safety activities in conjunction with the Trauma Medical Director.
Prepares and assists with monthly trauma performance improvement committee meetings.
Responsibilities

- Sets up and supports outreach education in cooperation with Trauma Outreach Manager and pre-hospital services.
- Collaborates with local, regional, and national injury prevention and community outreach initiatives.
- Oversees daily operations of the trauma program to ensure optimal care for injured patients.
- Collaborates with nursing and other patient care departments to manage trauma patient and family care processes.
- Supervises trauma performance improvement and patient safety activities in conjunction with the Trauma Medical Director.
- Prepares and assists with monthly trauma performance improvement committee meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Nursing
- Master's of Nursing (Preferred)
- 2+ previous leadership experience (Preferred)
- 5+ trauma program, emergency and/or critical care nursing experience (Required)
- Experience with trauma registry and coding (Preferred)
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) (Required)
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Required)
- Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) (Preferred)
- Certified Advanced Trauma Nurse (CATN) (Preferred)
