Overview
Now more than ever, mental and behavioral health care for kids is needed in our community. Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health is looking to meet the growing demands by hiring a full-time Trauma Informed Day Treatment Behavior Interventionist.
Job Description/Duties
- Pairs with TIDTx teachers and therapists to create and implement an academic/behavioral program of study that meets individual learner needs, interests, and abilities.
- Membership in a psycho-educational multi-disciplinary team to lead severely emotionally and behaviorally disturbed youth in maximizing their intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and development.
- Provides individual and small group practice of academic skills introduced by the teacher.
- Supports, assists, and intervenes in behavior management for TIDTx youth and staff: monitors youth in the comfort room, provides verbal de-escalation, behavioral coaching and rehearsal, problem-solving, and self-regulation skill development.
- Establishes, models, and reinforces appropriate positive relationship building skills with youth.
- Engages in crisis intervention, de-escalation, physical holding.
- Develops and implements individual behavior therapy plans, especially for youth being tagged.
- Provides effective direct and indirect supervision of clients at all times.
- Participates in treatment planning and coordination meetings as appropriate.
- Aids in the development and maintenance of classroom and programmatic records and data, including but not limited to report cards, IEP tracking, attendance, youth achievement records, daily passport, youth behavior rating sheet, and critical incident reports.
- Assists with Summer Programming.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School diploma - college preferred.
- Experience working with children.
- Valid driver's license and current insurance.

- This job is approximately 35% sitting, 25-35% standing, and 25%-35% being active.

Hours
Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on most days. On designated meeting days, the schedule extends to 4:00 p.m. Summer hours may vary.
