About the role

At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that helps people live without limitations. As a Trauma Associate Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Trauma Sales team within an assigned territory. Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Trauma Sales team with installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Setting up demo inventory and providing in-service support to customers.
  • Transporting customer inventory between accounts and covering surgical cases for sales reps.
  • Studying technical information and surgical procedures related to Trauma Orthopaedics products.
  • Assisting and training surgeons and hospital personnel on the proper use and care of product equipment.
  • Generating revenue and meeting/exceeding the territory's quota.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Sales Representative to generate revenue and meet/exceed the territory’s quota.
  • Building positive relationships with surgeons and hospital personnel.
  • Providing technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs.
  • Leading and mentoring team members.
  • Traveling within the designated sales territory with 2-4 overnight stays per month, and infrequent national travel for events and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience, preferably in the healthcare industry, specifically selling orthopedic products or having experience as an EMT/Paramedic, Surgical Technician, Sterile Processing Technician, or Operating Room Aide, athletic trainer.
  • Proven track record selling/converting business at the surgeon or hospital level.
  • Experience leading/mentoring team members.
  • Travel requirements: within designated sales territory with 2-4 overnights a month. Infrequent national travel for events and conferences.

  • Technical expertise in the Trauma Orthopaedics portfolio.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with surgeons and hospital personnel.
  • Self-motivated salesperson with a passion for forming relationships to increase sales revenue within the territory and impact patient outcomes.
  • Resourceful consultant who becomes proficient in Trauma Orthopaedics.
  • Collaborative and dedicated teammate committed to supporting a 24/7 on-call schedule within the territory.
