Transporter - Part Time - Nights - Weekends-Weekday

About the role

As a Transporter at NewYork-Presbyterian, you will play an essential role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our patients and their families. From offering friendly smiles and conversations to acting as a patient ambassador, you will help provide a positive experience for everyone in our hospital. Your responsibilities will include escorting patients to various areas throughout the hospital with a focus on compassion, caring, warmth, and support, while responding to patients’ needs and inquiries politely and promptly.

The Transporter/Messenger position is multi-faceted, involving the transportation of patients, patient supplies, and messengering tasks. You will go above and beyond to deliver superior customer service, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.

Schedule

This is a part-time position working the night shift from 11:30 pm to 7:30 am, including shifts every weekend.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a culture of compassion, caring, warmth, and support while escorting patients throughout the hospital.
• Conduct yourself in a courteous manner and respond to patients’ needs and inquiries politently and promptly.
• Perform tasks related to the transportation of patients, patient supplies, and messengering.
• Deliver superior customer service to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Requirements

• Extensive customer service experience and a desire to "Put Patients First."
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in the healthcare, hospitality, or retail industry.

Pay

Salary range: $24.61–$26.46 per hour.
