Transporter
About the role
As our Patient Transporter, you will provide essential assistance and transportation for patients and related items across our campus, ensuring a highly customer-sensitive and seamless experience. Every day you will promptly and safely transport inpatients and outpatients to and from various hospital areas. You will meticulously confirm patient identification, greet and assist in transferring patients, and make conscious observations of patient condition during transport, reporting any issues to appropriate personnel. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area and report any malfunctioning equipment.

Responsibilities
- Promptly and safely transport inpatients and outpatients to and from various hospital areas
- Confirm patient identification and greet and assist in transferring patients
- Make conscious observations of patient condition during transport and report any issues to appropriate personnel
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and report any malfunctioning equipment
- Assist with cleaning of equipment and maintenance of department; may exchange oxygen tanks and/or attach IVs to wheelchairs or gurneys as necessary
- Escort patient at the time of discharge from their room to personal transportation
- Maintain a safe work and patient environment, adhering to the hospital’s Safety, Risk Management, Regulatory Standards and infection prevention
- Provide client and patient relations
- Follow hospital department protocols for checking in patients and verifying their identity and following specific precautions identified
- Alert caregivers immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction
Requirements
- One year recent work-related experience
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
- Experience in a hospital setting
Pay
$19.48 - $28.85 per hour
