Transporter

Job Summary

Transfers and transports patients within the hospital and at time of discharge.

Picks up and delivers patient supplies and equipment to departments inside the hospital.

Cleans and sanitizes transportation equipment.

Performs duties relating to Shift Coordinator in the absence of the Supervisor/Coordinator/Lead.

Performs AIDET.

Attends at least 75% of department meetings.

Cross-trains to perform transporter functions at all facilities in the health system.

Performs courier functions as assigned.

Communicates with department utilizing assigned smartphone devices.

Delivers adequate oxygen to all requesting units during severe weather (Code Black).

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Prefer experience providing customer service in transportation (or transport), clerical duties, and/or dispatching associated functions.
• Requires general computer skills capable of utilizing health system's software programs.
• CPR acquired before or during new hire orientation.
