About the role

Inpatient Transporter – Phoenix Locations (Deer Valley or John C. Lincoln). Full-time position in the Network Central Transport Float Pool.

Schedule

• Shift: 12 PM – 10:30 PM
• 6 weekend days/nights per 6-week schedule period
• Holidays: 1 major summer, 1 major winter, 2 minor holidays

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and materials throughout all hospital areas.
• Maintains individual average transport time within guidelines set by network leadership and campus needs.
• Ensures transport equipment and supplies are maintained and sanitized following established protocols.
• Complies with all safety protocols, patient care regulations, and proper body mechanics during patient and material transport.
• Ensures patient safety when transferring patients to and from multiple surfaces and/or devices.
• Operates company-issued mobile devices, which may include dispatch responsibilities.
• Maintains accurate documentation and completes precise handoffs with clinical staff.
• Communicates appropriately with patients and care team members, including verifying patient identity and informing patients of their destination.
• Adheres to HonorHealth Standards of Conduct and ICARE values at all times.
• Follows established PPE guidelines and proper patient handling procedures.
• Reports equipment malfunctions immediately and removes faulty items from service.
• Utilizes Electronic Medical Record system(s) for safe and efficient patient transport.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required upon hire).
• 6 months of work experience in healthcare and customer service (preferred).
