TRANSPORTER

About the role

Moves patients and hospital equipment, including but not limited to oxygen tanks, specimens, and hospital beds throughout Froedtert Hospital. Maintains obstruction-free corridors and disinfects hospital equipment per regulations. May be required to monitor designated entrances, provide directions to patients and family members, access hospital systems, and answer telephones to provide general information to staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Move patients and hospital equipment (e.g., oxygen tanks, specimens, hospital beds)
• Maintain obstruction-free corridors
• Disinfect hospital equipment per regulations
• Monitor designated entrances
• Provide directions to patients and family members
• Access hospital systems and answer telephones to provide general information

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience is preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred

Skills

• Ability to receive and convey non-medical information
• Good public relations and communication skills
• Ability to interact well with the general public
• Ability to make sound judgments in a variety of situations
• Basic telephone and computer skills
• Ability to use hospital software to obtain information for staff monitoring entrances

Licensure

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire
