About the Role

Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations, enabling physicians, nurses, technicians, and therapists to perform their duties effectively. Ensures positive patient and customer satisfaction, proper utilization of body mechanics, and adherence to policies, procedures, and standards established by the Hospital, Department, and Regulatory Agencies. Acts as a positive role model and team player demonstrating the hospital's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Transport patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items safely and accurately.
  • Maintain positive patient and customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to proper body mechanics and hospital policies.
  • Comply with standards set by regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrate hospital mission and values as a role model and team player.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must obtain American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification during department orientation if not certified prior to hire.
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Service and quality-focused to meet diverse needs.
  • Able to navigate throughout the facility.
  • Problem-solving skills for emergencies or unusual situations.
  • Able to multi-task and work at a fast pace.
  • Neat, professional appearance with a positive demeanor.

  • Ability to withstand frequent to prolonged walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and transferring patients.
