TRANSPORTATION SURVEYOR (CALTRANS)
Multiple permanent, full-time positions available in San Joaquin County. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
About the Role
Under the direction of a Transportation Surveyor Party Chief (Caltrans), the incumbent performs a wide variety of professional land surveying work in a field setting. As incumbents progress in experience, the work assigned will be more difficult, and the incumbent may function as a lead person over the activities of various surveying and technical personnel in the field. At the journey level and with a license, the incumbent will work in a responsible charge capacity.
Pay
- Range A: $6,332.00 - $7,922.00 per month
- Range B: $7,428.00 - $9,296.00 per month
- Range C: $8,896.00 - $11,131.00 per month
- Range D: $9,712.00 - $12,152.00 per month
Appointment to Range D requires a valid Professional Land Surveying License issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle.
- Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Transportation Surveyor (Caltrans) exam. Candidates without current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) or new to state civil service employment must be on the state examination list.
- Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If basing eligibility on education, unofficial transcript(s)/diploma must be provided for verification. Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a U.S. equivalency report from a NACES or AICE evaluation agency.
