About the Role
Supervises operation and maintenance activities of fleet/automotive equipment department and storage, repair facilities, and supply warehouse operations. Reports to Transportation Manager.
Responsibilities
- Leads Safety, Quality Assurance, and Operational Performance Compliance efforts of the assigned departments through continuous oversight, campaigns, training, briefings, observations, and fostering of a safety and quality culture to ensure adherence to rules and regulations.
- Prepares detailed reports and briefings to clearly and accurately communicate functional area progress, status, and deliverables.
- Possesses Subject Matter Expert knowledge of contractual requirements for the areas assigned.
- Coordinates, communicates, and collaborates with prime and subcontract personnel, customers, and Government personnel in all matters related to assigned departments to ensure transparency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Provides oversight of inspections and scheduling of maintenance for fleet assets.
- Obtains vehicle and equipment replacement costs and prepares specifications for purchase of new vehicles and equipment.
- Articulates significant work performed for contract and employee recognition; administer discipline as required.
- Monitors department budget and analyzes purchase and repair costs to control expenditures.
- Responsible for process improvement and efficiency.
- Assists in assignment of vehicles to meet contractual requirements.
- Participates in managing vehicle manufacturer recall program.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite/Office (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), other proprietary software for administrative use.
- Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in related fields such as transportation or logistics is preferred.
- A minimum of four (4) years' relevant work experience with a proven track record in scheduling and managing others.
- Ability to administer and maintain highly confidential and specialized information utilizing an in-depth understanding of organizational policies, procedures, operations, and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).

- Constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication.
- Constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.
- Position will require travel.
