APS-3: Transportation Supervisor

Job Summary

The Transportation Supervisor leads a section of various employees to include truck drivers, heavy equipment operators, maintenance team as well as MCT team with a mission to support movement of materiel and stocks to support the KBR program. Daily tasks include supervising employee performance, maintaining a safe work environment, allocating driver assignments, ensuring compliance with program policies, procedures, and safety standards, along with completing operator level maintenance on all vehicles.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Managing the team and ensuring a safe environment amongst all personnel
  • Uploading outbound equipment, offloading incoming equipment, all surface movements of a wide variety of tactical equipment as it is dispatched through the APS-3 Maintenance Process
  • Planning and conducting full-scale convoys of tactical equipment from Topside to Bldg. 941 (10 mile distance)
  • Movement and convoy of intermodal shipping containers
  • Busing of all personnel to and from their place of work
  • Proper staging of stored equipment so as to maximize the use of available staging areas for both wheeled / tracked equipment and shipping containers
  • Ensures quality is built into the processes and ensures requirements are met and achieves customer satisfaction
  • Investigates and corrects quality and safety defects
  • Ensures all employees are fully trained on all equipment
  • Maintain all transportation movement to completion
  • Ensure all schedules are met

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Post HS education in related field is preferred
  • Applicable specialized military or military contracting experience can be used in lieu of formal post high school education at the discretion of the hiring manager
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) a plus
  • Possesses a valid Real ID state motor vehicle license
  • OSHA -10 certification a plus
  • 8 years’ experience truck driving / equipment operations or similar roles
  • 2 year minimum in lead or supervisory experience
  • Experience working in lean manufacturing, participating or leading continuous improvement projects is a plus
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain local base access

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day
  • Must be able to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day
  • Must be able to Lift - up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able to squat, kneel, bend, reach and climb periodically
  • Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments
