PRIMARY PURPOSE
Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys developing people while driving results? As a Transportation Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient flow of product through our distribution center. You'll lead a team of associates, uphold performance standards, and collaborate across departments to deliver exceptional service to our retail partners and customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead & Inspire Your Team
Supervise day-to-day activities for the assigned department and staff. Coach, develop, and hold associates accountable through performance planning, feedback, and recognition. - Develop Talent
Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and developing new and existing associates to build a high-performing team. - Drive Operational Excellence
Partner with Receiving, Shipping, Transportation, and Inventory Management to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely product flow in and out of the distribution center. - Optimize Staffing & Productivity
Monitor daily staffing levels, assign labor management tasks, and adjust resources to meet production demands. - Ensure Safety, Accuracy & Compliance
Enforce company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures. Communicate and administer corrective action when necessary. - Lead Communication & Collaboration
Hold departmental meetings, communicate shift updates, and coordinate with other departments to minimize operational disruptions. - Champion Continuous Improvement
Identify waste and inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and act as a "change agent" for lean practices. Help foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. - Support Business Goals
Help achieve departmental operational and budget goals. Provide accurate reports and insights to the Distribution Center Leadership Team. - Project & Process Leadership
Lead assigned projects and tasks, and recommend modifications to procedures or workflows that increase efficiency, productivity, and cost savings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in a distribution or warehouse environment
- Prior experience supervising or leading teams (preferred)
- Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Certified on powered industrial equipment, where applicable
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Familiarity with distribution center operations
- Basic understanding of business and financial reports
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to align teams with departmental and business goals
- Flexibility to work required schedules and shifts
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from -5°F to 90°F+
