NOC (Network Operation Center) is the central command and control center for ‘Transportation Execution’ across the Amazon Supply Chain network supporting multiple geographies like NA, India, and EU. It ensures hassle-free, timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. In case of any exceptions, NOC steps in to resolve the issue and keeps all stakeholders informed. Along with tactical problem-solving, NOC analyzes network data to identify trends, automate processes, or propose process changes to streamline operations. Overall, NOC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation, directly impacting Amazon’s ability to serve its customers on time.
About the role
A Transportation Specialist (Trans Rep) at NOC facilitates the flow of information between stakeholders (Trans Carriers, Hubs, Warehouses) and resolves issues impacting customer experience and business continuity. This role focuses on Outbound Operations, managing the FC/Carrier/Carrier Hub relationship to ensure trucks leave FCs on time to deliver customer orders as promised. The Trans Rep addresses issues during the lifecycle of freight leaving the FC and reaching customer premises, providing real-time resolutions by researching internal tools and making data-driven decisions.
An ideal candidate should analyze data, identify trends, and drive customer experience without compromising time. They should have a basic understanding of logistics, strong communication skills (written and oral), and the ability to ideate and implement process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers).
- Pull data from databases using Excel to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
- Develop and/or understand performance metrics to drive business results.
- Quickly assess business impacts of trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Systematically escalate problems or data variances to relevant teams and follow through on resolutions.
- Work within time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed.
- Create narratives outlining weekly findings, variances to goals, and present them in review forums.
- Provide real-time customer experience in a fast-paced operating environment.
- Perform tasks such as track and trace, customer communications, ad-hoc booking, cancellation of additional trucks by analyzing volume patterns, and container management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics.
- Experience with Excel.
- Basic understanding of logistics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL.
