About the role

Responsibilities
- Aid in transportation and rail infrastructure design tasks for each project.
- Conduct site visits and collect necessary data for design purposes.
- Provide design for all aspects of track design in transit and railroad projects.
- Coordinate and lead engineering efforts across various stages of rail infrastructure projects, including planning, design, construction support, and maintenance.
- Maintain strong relationships with external clients and transit agencies.
- Support the growth of junior engineers by assigning appropriate tasks and promoting technical excellence.
- Contribute to design reports, which may include calculation workbooks, alternative analyses, and cost estimates.
- Achieve project completion by ensuring all deliverables such as plans, specifications, permits, and reports are submitted on time and within budget.
- Communicate effectively with Bloom leadership, design team members, clients, project owners, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings and represent the company professionally.
- Engage in Bloom’s mentor/mentee culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 7 to 12 years of experience
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting
- Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred, Not Required
- Illinois Professional Engineer License
- Additional software experience (AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS, MicroStation, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office)
- Professional association participation (AREMA, APTA, etc.)
