Transportation Planner 1st shift
Schedule: 1st Shift
Location: Northwood, OH
Pay: $24 per hour
Responsibilities
- Create new transports within the YATRACO system.
- Assign deliveries to transports and coordinate transportation planning.
- Perform capacity planning.
- Review and update deliveries.
- Block and split deliveries as required.
- Assign service agents to transports.
- Modify transportation modes through shipping conditions (company truck, common carrier, etc.).
- Add or update freight costs on deliveries.
- Assign shipment types.
- Print shipping documentation, including packing slips, certifications, load lists, manifests, and related documents.
- Support foreign trade requirements.
- Prepare and maintain customs paperwork and shipping documentation for cross-border shipments into Canada.
- Ensure compliance with transportation and international shipping requirements.
- Verify loading accuracy.
- Control inbound transports and deliveries.
- Schedule common carrier shipments.
- Coordinate transportation for over-length and over-width deliveries.
- Manage returnable goods.
- Assign service agents for subcontracting activities.
- Assist with the creation of new service agents.
- Support warehouse clerical functions, including freight and UPS claims filing.
- Work closely with plant management, sales teams, warehouse personnel, carriers, and service providers.
- Support company employee attributes and competencies while contributing to a positive team environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Comfortable working in both an office and warehouse environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to understand equipment specifications and tolerances.
- Warehouse experience including forklift operation, packing, and measuring.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, shipping, warehouse operations, or a related field.
- Knowledge of SFA and Load Module systems.
- Understanding of metals and proper staging, processing, packaging, and shipping requirements.
- First Aid and CPR training.
- Exposure to labor relations, safety programs, ISO standards, Lean manufacturing practices, and sales functions.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to build effective working relationships and contribute as both a team leader and team member.
