Transportation Operations Technician I

About the role

The Agency of Transportation seeks a Transportation Operations Technician I. This position involves tasks such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, and ditching. During the winter months, responsibilities include plowing and salting roads, with potential for overtime.

Responsibilities

- Repairing and maintaining highways - Cutting down trees and clearing brush - Patching and resurfacing roads - Picking up litter and debris - Assisting with winter road maintenance

Requirements

- No formal education or experience required - Must be at least 18 years old - Valid driver’s license required - Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required for original probation

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Skills

- Ability to work in extreme outdoor weather conditions - Knowledge of tools and equipment used in maintenance work - Ability to lift materials commonly used in maintenance work

Pay

- Step 1 rate: $21.41 per hour - Step 15 rate: $33.11 per hour
