About the role

The Agency of Transportation seeks a Transportation Operations Technician I. This position involves tasks such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, and ditching. During the winter, responsibilities include plowing and salting roads, with potential for overtime.

Requirements

No formal education or experience is required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent - Valid driver's license - Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Skills

- Ability to work in extreme outdoor weather conditions - Knowledge of tools and equipment used for maintenance work - Ability to lift materials commonly used in maintenance work - Completion of VTTC required coursework within six months or enrollment

Pay

The step 1 rate for pay grade 18 is $21.41 per hour, while the step 15 rate is $33.11 per hour. The full salary range is provided, but new hires are typically made at the minimum.

Schedule

Considerable overtime work is required, particularly during the winter months, which is a condition of employment.
