Responsible for
- Maintains and repairs transit facilities
- Drives city maintenance vehicles safely
- Repairs and maintains bus stops, shelters, and transit centers
- Replaces and repairs signs and route information at bus stops
- Operates snow removal equipment to maintain bus stops and shelters
- Cleans shelters, picks up trash, and performs general upkeep
- Documents and records daily activities and incidents
- Works with other city departments for sign placements, right of way information, easements, and maintenance
- Operates small power tools
- Maintains power washers, weed eaters, and other equipment
- Stocks kiosks with route information
- Collects monies from pay machines
- Maintains and performs Preventive Maintenance on pay machines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to two years related experience in building or grounds maintenance
- Basic knowledge of carpentry
- Basic math skills
- Safe driving skills
- Basic map reading skills
- General computer knowledge, using spreadsheets and word documents
- Ability to use a 2-way radio
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
