About the role

The Transportation Hydraulics Senior Engineer/Project Manager is responsible for providing leadership support in project delivery, business development, and growth of HDR’s Transportation Hydraulics Group in the Pennsylvania/West Virginia Area. This position involves assisting the Transportation Hydraulics Lead in strategic planning, overseeing technical project delivery, managing quality control, staff development, and business development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Transportation Hydraulics Lead in the development of strategic planning

  • Business development and marketing support

Requirements

  • Project experience and existing relationships with DOT and municipal clients
  • Technical proficiency preparing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and reports
  • Scour investigations, erosion and sediment control plans and reports, drainage, and stormwater management design
  • Waterway and NPDES permitting, quantity & cost estimates, and specifications
  • Experience with standard drainage analysis and design packages including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, StormCAD, EPASWMM, XPSWMM, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, and SRH-2D river modeling
  • ArcGIS Pro and HEC-HMS experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to support marketing efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience
  • Minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical proficiency preparing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and reports
  • Scour investigations, erosion and sediment control plans and reports, drainage, and stormwater management design
  • Waterway and NPDES permitting, quantity & cost estimates, and specifications
