About the role
The Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) is seeking a Transportation Engineer V to join the Office of Facilities Maintenance at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).
Responsibilities
- Managing the design, analysis, administration, review, coordination, budget (development and management) and execution of maintenance and engineering projects.
- Directing and managing engineering consultants and electrical contractors for investigations, inspections, and evaluations of existing conditions.
- Assigning projects to A/E consultants, contractors, and MAA staff based on priorities and goals.
- Participating in design, construction management, and commissioning of projects at BWI Marshall Airport and Martin State Airport (MTN).
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, five years of experience in professional engineering, involving medium voltage power systems, substations, low-voltage power distribution systems, and government infrastructure projects.
- Education: Master's degree in engineering may substitute for one year of experience.
- Licenses & Certifications: Professional Engineer, Land Surveyor, or Property Line Surveyor License may be required.
Notes
Additional work experience in professional engineering or technical engineering at the journey level or above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
