About the role

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated transportation engineer looking for career advancement, in our Crystal Lake, Chicago, Naperville, Mokena, or Bannockburn, IL offices. This position will primarily consist of design leadership and development of a variety of transportation projects for State, County, Tollway, and Local Agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage/Complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards.
  • Manage/Complete IDOT or Local Agency Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
  • Lead a variety of projects and study types including roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
  • Assist with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects is preferred but not required.
  • Help prepare project-specific proposals, contract preparation, and teaming arrangements, and participate in project interviews.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience completing IDOT or Local Agency Phase II bid documents.
  • Microstation/Open Roads Designer capabilities preferred with an understanding of IDOT workflow.
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s Illinois service areas (own transportation) and attend client and in office meetings as required.
  • Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills.

Compensation - The pay range for this role is $105,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.

The pay range for this role is $105,000 to $130,000.
